In 1999 I joined my mother’s real estate business to form The Hermann Group. Before becoming a Realtor, I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York and had a successful career as an Executive Chef here in the Twin Cities. Once my wife Brette and I had the first of our two children, we agreed that the restaurant business wasn't ideal for raising a family the way we wanted to. Being in the restaurant business for over 14 years taught me how to work hard and how to manage the pressures of everyday life. As an Executive chef, organization, planning, communicating and time management is crucial. The same is true in real estate. Growing up, my mom was always there for me when I needed her – greeting me after school or sitting in the stands at my hockey and football games – I could always count on her. I want that for my family too, especially now that we are involved in the Minnetonka Youth Hockey Association. Since I absorbed so much real estate knowledge through ‘osmosis’ while I was growing up, it was a natural transition to join my mother. Besides the everyday business of listing and selling homes, keeping our team up-to-date on available technology falls under my jurisdiction. Maximizing our efficiency, productivity, and marketing options enables us to focus on our relationships with our clients and their needs.

Before beginning my real estate career, I assisted Patti Jo & Matt for 9+ years with their marketing & other administrative duties. During that same time I had also built & ran a real estate marketing-based design & print business. My business consisted of assisting real estate agents from all over the Twin Cities with marketing their listings. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work from home while raising our children. Once both children were in school full-time, I decided to turn my business over to my sister & pursue a real estate career. I bring extensive marketing skills, enthusiastic work ethic, and a love for real estate & working with people. Combined with the seasoned experience, market expertise, and technology know-how, our team brings it all to the table. I graduated from The University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. After graduating, I worked at a Care Center on the Alzheimer's Unit as a Recreational Therapist. I truly enjoyed my time working there with amazing people & residents. When Matt & I had our son, he had some health issues which kept me away from work too often. It was at this time we decided I would need to work from home, so I started up my real estate marketing business
I rejoined the Real Estate Profession after being in the business before my husband, Brad, and I started our family. I feel fortunate that I was able to stay at home with our 4 kids when they were young. When our youngest started 3rdgrade I decided that it was time for me to ‘start’ a new chapter in my life. Real Estate has been such a big part of my life and seems to be a natural fit. I love to work with people and look forward to helping people find the home of their dreams. I started college at UW-Eau Claire where I swam for the Blugolds for 2 years. I then transferred to Augsburg College where I graduated with a BA in Political Science. I had my Real Estate License and worked in the mortgage business before Brad and I started our family. I have been involved in various organizations; chairing committees’ at the elementary schools, Sunday School Teacher and Confirmation guide, buyer of the Minnetonka Booster store, and Team Manager for different youth sports. I feel my ties to the community and the passion for working with people will be strong attributes in my career. My husband and I have been married 22 years and have 4 children. We love the Minnetonka area and have lived in the area since we got married. Amanda Jo, a sophomore at University of St. Thomas, has enjoyed branching out on her own and loves college life. We love having her closer to home so we can go down and have an occasional dinner with her. Tyler, a junior at Minnetonka High school, enjoys playing Lacrosse and has started working to make extra money to buy gas as he recently got his driver’s license in November. Our younger two children, Alexandra and Zachary, are enrolled in the Spanish Immersion Program at Minnetonka. It is amazing to see your children fluent in 2 languages. Alex enjoys playing soccer and hockey and keeps busy playing both sports year-round. Zach keeps us busy with baseball, golf, football and hockey.

The Hermann Group was awesome to work with! When we started the process of selling our house, Matt and Brette gave us great feedback on what we needed to do to get our house ready to sell. And of course after we made the changes, we asked ourselves why didn't we make these changes a long time ago. So many of our family commented at how nice our house looked. When our house went on the market, we left for vacation. Matt and Brette kept us informed every day as to what was going on with the sale of the house.
